This is our second visit to Anchor Down and it won’t be our last. Janet and Ian are fantastic hosts and welcome you into their home in true Kiwi fashion. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Janet can recommend many activities and good restaurants in the Picton district. We have taken her advice and never been disappointed.

During our short stay in Picton we were warmly welcomed by Janet and Ian. They gave us great advice about things to do in the area during the delicious pancake breakfast. The room was clean, modern, and pretty. Everything you want from a B&B! Close to restaurants, shops and the marina (with stingrays!)

Janet and Ian are great hosts, providing a comfortable room, wine on the patio, amazing breakfasts, and many helpful suggestions of hikes to take and places to eat. They are very engaging, and we learned a lot about the country and some of it's history. We would definitely recommend staying here.

We had such a great multi-day stay at Anchor Down in 2015 that we returned and brought our friends and stayed 5 days.. Anchor Down is a great place to stay, friendly, helpful and great breakfasts. A very short 5-minute walk into the main part of Piction. I feel bad that I did not post a review several months ago in April. I would return here in an instant. Picton is a nice base to do wine country trips, sightseeing, and hiking

We have just stayed 1 night in Anchor Down b&b. Beautiful b&b in a great location. We didn't meet Ian bit Janet was a great host who gave us good suggestions in the area. Very comfortable bed & Janet even put breakfast in our fridge in advance as we were heading off on an early boat trip. Make sure you go & see the stingrays off the bridge

This is a first class Bed and Breakfast. The room was excellent – clean, modern and comfortable with good facilities. Ian and Janet were very friendly and good company clearly enjoying the interaction with their guests. The Breakfast was lovely and served to us, unlike the “Do it yourself” breakfast we experienced elsewhere. Stayed here just one night in March on a 7 week trip covering 18 locations throughout New Zealand. I can honestly say that price and everything else considered, Anchor Down was top of my list. The area is lovely if the weather is good! The Edwin Fox Museum (restored sailing ship) is well worth a visit. Lots of lovely boats in the Marina

My husband, Don, and I stayed with you on 1 November after we arrived in Picton and were preparing to start the South Island leg of our 24-day cycling trip to New Zealand. We returned home to North Carolina on 21 November after an amazing cycling adventure. We want to thank you for such a lovely stay in your home. Both of you were so very warm and welcoming upon our arrival. Your dinner recommendation for the Oxley Pub was fabulous, and we so enjoyed a great night of sleep in your beautiful and comfortable room. You have certainly thought of every need of travelers, and the room is welcome and beautiful (also spotlessly clean). Our breakfast was outstanding; I will remember those lemon pancakes for years to come! And wasn’t it fun (and amazing) that we ran into Marcel and Esther from the Netherlands on two other days of our trip after leaving Picton. We fell in love with New Zealand and count both of you among the many warm and wonderful Kiwis who made our trip absolutely magical. We hope to stay with you again on our next trip, and we will stay more than one night to ensure we have the chance to explore Picton and the surrounding areas
